Hearts Going Toward Wellness (HGTW)
Asks for your Prayers and Financial Support
We need help to house and feed participants and in some cases help pay for their travel from remote locations of Alaska.
Dear Friends,
We are a Native lead group of unpaid volunteers, both Native and non-Native, who want to comfort others with the comfort we have been given. (II Cor. 1:4) The Lord has saved us, and we would like to see others saved. The Lord is healing our brokenness and setting us free in Christ. We would like to see Him free others from the heavy burdens of sin and oppression of the enemy.
Alaska has set nationwide records for the abuse of women and children. In the Native communities above all others. Our hearts break for the people of Alaska. HGTW, under the oversight of Alaska Freedom Journey, holds two five-day conferences each year, one in April and one in October. We use the InterAct Campus on Lazy Mountain just outside of Palmer, Alaska.
It is a beautiful mountain retreat with comfortable rooms, amazing views of the Matanuska Valley, dining room and meeting rooms. The conference program includes large group sessions in the meeting room at the main building, and small grace group sessions for processing lessons and our responses to them. Topics include looking back at trauma and damage, how we have been hurt; discovering how past harm affects us today, how we have hurt others; and finally, how we can forgive, heal, and live the abundant life in Christ moving forward.
We need funds to house and feed participants, and in some cases, help pay for travel from
remote locations of Alaska. The conference cost for each participant is approximately $300.00.
Travel costs can be as little as providing a ride from Anchorage to as much as paying $1000.00
or more for round trip air fare to one of the villages off the road system.
While we do ask participants to pay what they can, we do not want the cost to keep anyone from attending. InterAct charges us a minimal fee for the rooms and we do our own housekeeping. The HGTW ministry does not have any paid employees and hasn’t for over 20 years. All the HGTW ministry
personnel are former participants passing on the good news of what the Lord has done for
them.
